PECK, Senior Circuit Judge This appeal arose from the district court's denial of Appellant American Employers Insurance Company's motions for directed verdict, judgment notwithstanding the verdict, new trial, and remittitur. American seeks reversal of the compensatory and punitive damage awards on the grounds that the compensatory damages were based on speculation and conjecture and that the punitive damages were the result of standardless jury discretion which violated American's due process rights under the fourteenth amendment. For the reasons stated below, we affirm the award of compensatory damages and remand the issue of punitive damages. FACTS
